Remote Reels allows you to run any one or two electric hose reel systems from a single remote up to 100 feet away.  In a wildland fire application  this gives engine crews much more flexibility when using live reels especially in pump and roll situations over the standard truck mounted reel activation button.  It is also a much safer system than the cab mounted system when the operator does not always have a clear view of the firefighters using the hose.
    Remote Reels use a remote transmitter the same size as a standard  keyless entry transmitter yet it has buttons large enough to be easily operated with gloved hands. This small size lets firefighters hang the transmitter easily from a radio pack, button hole or belt loop so you will never know it is there until you need it. The transmitter has a glow in the dark face plate that is easy to find and operate in the dark. The face plate labeled DRIVER and PASSENGER will glow for 8 hours after just 1 hour of exposure to light.    
    This system is easy to install on any 12 volt electric hose reel that uses a standard three or four post solenoid by anyone with basic electrical knowledge (if you can wire an auxiliary light on your engine you can install this system). Each system comes with full installation instructions, and transmitter programming instructions.  Each receiver is capable of  operating with up to 6 transmitters. 
    While this system will not replace the pulaski it is still an excellent tool and a useful addition to any engine.
